Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A cricket table is a type of three-legged occasional table originating in Britain during the 16th to 18th centuries. The three-legged construction allowed the table to remain stable on uneven stone or earth floors in rural homes and taverns.

These tables were primarily constructed from solid native hardwoods such as oak, elm, or fruitwood. The tops were often made of two or three joined planks, supported by hand-mortised tapered or turned legs connected by stretchers or an undertier.

Authentic period examples demonstrate hand-hewn timber, pegs or dowels in the joinery, uneven wear around the feet, and natural surface oxidation or patination in unpolished areas beneath the top and undertier.

A cricket table functions well as an accent table beside a sofa or armchair, or positioned in a hallway corner. Its compact footprint and timber warmth pair well with both contemporary upholstered seating and traditional country decor.

Maintain the timber by dusting regularly with a soft dry cloth and applying a thin coat of natural beeswax polish once or twice a year. Keep the table away from direct heat sources and standing water to prevent timber movement or surface damage.
