We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Jacobean Revival furniture, popular during the late Victorian era, incorporates 17th-century decorative elements such as Solomonic columns, known as barley twist legs, and carved geometric motifs executed in dark solid woods.

Craftsmen typically utilised solid European oak, employing hand-turned lathe techniques for the barley twist legs, mortise and tenon joinery, and hand-carved accents on leg blocks and stretchers.

Authentic pieces display natural signs of age, deep patina in crevices, original mortise and tenon construction, and hand-finishing tool marks under the tabletop or along the stretcher base.

Position the table beside an armchair or sofa to hold a modern brass lamp, or place it in an entryway topped with ceramic vessels to contrast traditional wood carving with minimalist contemporary forms.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, working along the grain to protect the timber and retain the aged patina without using chemical cleaners.
