Antique Silver Capstan Inkwell

A good example of an antique silver capstan style inkwell complete with a white ceramic liner. It is a stylish and good quality piece with a large weighted base and hinged lid.
 
It is hallmarked for Birmingham, 1918 and the maker A.J Zimmerman.
 
It is in good condition for its age and displays well. There are some faint surface marks, a couple of minor dinks and dents, particularly one on the lid, but nothing detrimental. It has been gently cleaned and polished and is ready for use.
