While the clay remained soft, the decorative elements were individually applied using small moulds, creating richly ornamented bands of classical decoration. The relief ornament includes scenes of neoclassical Greek figures together with traditional Greek key (meander), anthemion, and scrolling wave borders.A particularly appealing feature is the visible fingerprint impressions left by the potter on the interior of the vessel, where the clay was supported during the application of the relief decoration.
