Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

French provincial farmhouse tables were crafted during the 18th and 19th centuries by local artisans in rural France. Typically constructed from locally sourced hardwoods such as fruitwood, oak, or chestnut, these tables served as functional centrepieces for daily family meals and domestic tasks.

Traditional fruitwood tables are constructed using native timbers such as cherry, plum, or pear, prized for their dense grain and warm natural patination. Construction relies on traditional joinery techniques, including mortise and tenon joints, wooden pegs, hand-planed plank tops, and side frieze drawers.

Authentic 19th-century examples display signs of hand-tooling, hand-carved wooden pegs, and irregular timber dimensions visible underneath the tabletop. Look for natural patination around the aprons, period-correct drawer joinery, and wear along the lower legs.

A French fruitwood farmhouse table acts as a grounding anchor in both contemporary and classic dining spaces. Pair the table with modern minimalist seating or upholstered chairs to create an intentional contrast between tactile timber and clean architectural lines.

Maintain fruitwood surfaces by dusting regularly with a soft, dry cloth and applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to protect the timber finish. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and severe humidity fluctuations to prevent cracking or warping.
