An early 20th century demi lune console hall table exemplifies the Queen Anne style through its distinctive English Country House aesthetic. Constructed from timber, the piece is finished in two contrasting painted tones, combining a blue top surface with a cream base. The semicircular table top incorporates a moulded rim along its curved edge, resting on three slender cabriole legs that terminate in simple pad feet. Each leg curves outwards from the underside in the characteristic manner of the revival style. Measuring 75 cm high, 73 cm wide and 37 cm deep, the table possesses compact proportions suited to narrow spaces. Suitable for placement beside the front door in a hallway, entryway or corridor, the furniture item provides a surface for everyday items upon entering the home. The three-legged freestanding construction allows the straight flat edge to sit flush against a vertical surface while maintaining stability. The painted timber construction integrates readily into neutral or pastel domestic interiors.

A demi lune console table is a half-moon shaped accent table designed to sit flush against a wall, originally popularised in eighteenth-century European interior design.

Traditional examples are constructed from solid hardwoods such as beech, oak, or mahogany, finished with painted surfaces and moulded edge detailing.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-carved joinery such as mortise and tenon joints, subtle timber shrinkage along the curved apron, and historic wear on the feet.

Position the piece in a narrow entryway or hallway beneath a framed wall light or mirror to utilise compact floor space while establishing a focal point.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, avoiding abrasive cleaning agents or excessive moisture that can damage the painted layers.
