LVS Decorative Arts has dated this Red Chinoiserie Games Table to the 1920s.

The top opens to reveal a green baize surface with red lacquered edge and guinea wells to each four corners.
The table has a concertina mechanism which enables the table to be extended allowing the table to have a leg to each of the four corners – the concertina or folding frame action was used on the finest tables in the 18th century giving the table greater stability as well as a symmetry which was much more aesthetically pleasing to the eye

This leads down to a decorative frieze to the front and sides consisting of red lacquered ground with gilt Chinoiserie designs.
The table is supported on four cabriole legs with painted scallop shell design to the top with scroll carved decoration to the inner sides of the legs, terminating with ball and claw feet.

This table is in very good condition for age, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home – this can be used as a card or games table or equally as a decorative side table.
