A good compact size table made from the most beautiful, quarter cut oak splendidly showing off the punchy medullary rays. These are so typical of this very wasteful method of cutting timber but the effect is oh so stunning, extremely stable and very much sought after.
The oak it’s made from is comfortingly thick and solid, both in the sides and top, whilst the stretcher keeping the top apart is tusk-tenoned into the sides with more chunky sections of oak.
A table with lovely colour and, polish in superb condition, restored by us in our workshops. Plus, when you turn it over, it has the all-important Heals, Tottenham Court Road white button confirming it’s badge of rank amongst the best mid-century furniture.
