Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A threshing board, also known as a tribulum, is an ancient agricultural tool comprising heavy wooden planks fitted with flint stones or iron blades on the underside, historically dragged by livestock over harvested crops to separate grain from straw.

Threshing boards were typically constructed from durable dense hardwoods such as elm or oak to withstand heavy agricultural wear, with hand-cut flints, chert, or iron pieces embedded into carved underside slots.

Authentic period pieces show extensive surface wear, natural timber shrinkage around hand-carved slots, genuine iron or flint insertions with hand-forged fastenings, and a dark patina created by prolonged friction and grain oil absorption.

Designers frequently mount threshing boards vertically as large-scale sculptural wall art, position them as backdrop panels behind console tables, or lean them against neutral walls to add textural contrast in modern rustic interiors.

Clean the wood gently using a soft dry brush to remove dust from crevices, maintain a stable humidity level to prevent further movement in the timber, and avoid water or harsh chemical detergents.
