Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This antique console table follows the military campaign style, dating from the 1930 period in England. Constructed from warm brown mahogany, the piece receives reinforcement and embellishment from polished brass corner brackets, flush recessed rectangular drawer handles, and a central top inlaid brass plaque. Two long drawers sit beneath the rectangular surface, while a lower open shelf spans the full length between the sturdy upright legs. The visible timber grain presents a rich dark polish across every exterior surface. Measuring 69 cm high, 138 cm wide, and 41 cm deep, the table fits naturally inside a hallway beside the front door, or serves as a functional writing desk within a gentleman's library. Because the back receives full polishing, the piece operates as a freestanding unit anywhere in a room.

FAQs

Military campaign furniture refers to pieces specifically designed to be packed up and transported by officers while on military expeditions, historically defined by flat outer surfaces, protective metal corner brackets, and flush brass hardware.

Campaign tables were predominantly crafted from durable hardwoods such as mahogany or teak to withstand climate variations and rough transit, alongside recessed brass corner straps and brass flush-pull handles.

Authentic campaign pieces feature recessed, flush-fitting hardware designed not to catch during transport, strap-like brass corner reinforcements, and often modular construction methods such as demountable legs or split sections.

A campaign console table can be placed in an entryway, corridor, or behind a sofa, paired with contemporary table lamps, clean-lined artwork, or ceramic vessel displays to contrast the structured brass fittings.

Dust surfaces regularly using a clean microfibre cloth, apply a natural beeswax polish annually along the timber grain, and polish the brass mounts carefully using non-abrasive cleaners to prevent transfer onto the wood.
