Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Doulton Burslem refers to ceramics produced at the Burslem factory in Staffordshire between 1882 and 1901, prior to the company receiving the Royal Warrant in 1901 and becoming Royal Doulton. This era is notable for advancements in decorative glazes, gilding techniques, and fine bone china production.

Victorian decorative bowls were predominantly crafted from fine earthenware, stoneware, or bone china. High-status pieces frequently featured cobalt blue underglaze decoration, hand-applied gold leaf gilding, and electroplated nickel silver or solid silver mounts along the rim.

Authentic pieces generally carry impressed or printed factory marks on the underside, often incorporating the name Doulton Burslem alongside a crown or globe device. Marks accompanied by specific pattern numbers or artist initials further assist in dating pieces to the late nineteenth century.

A decorative ceramic bowl can be positioned as a focal point on a sideboard, coffee table, or hallway console table. Pairing the item with neutral textures or display cabinetry allows the rich cobalt glazes and metallic details to complement both modern and traditional decor.

Clean the ceramic body using a soft, dry cloth or a slightly damp microfibre towel without harsh detergent. Avoid submerging metal-rimmed pieces in water, and gently polish silver rims using a dry silver cloth while avoiding contact with the painted glaze or gilding.
