Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This nineteenth-century French Provincial server or serving table is constructed from warm brown cherrywood with a clean plank top. The piece stands on four tapered square legs and incorporates a single central frieze drawer fitted with a turned wooden knob. Recently cleaned and waxed, the timber displays a smooth surface and even grain while retaining its honest rustic farmhouse character. Measuring 71 cm high, 150 cm wide, and 49 cm deep, this versatile furnishing suits a dining room, hallway, or kitchen workspace. It provides useful surface display space combined with discreet drawer storage for everyday essentials. The straightforward rectangular proportions and restrained lines allow the table to complement both traditional country interiors and more contemporary living spaces as a practical statement piece.

FAQs

A French provincial serving table, or server, is a long, narrow timber table traditionally crafted in rural France to assist with food preparation and serving in dining rooms or kitchens.

These tables were commonly constructed from regional hardwoods such as cherrywood, walnut, or oak, utilizing mortise-and-tenon joinery, hand-turned drawer knobs, and hand-planed plank tops.

Authentic pieces display uneven hand-planed surfaces, historical woodworm flight holes, peg construction along the apron joints, and a rich patination developed through natural oxidisation.

A serving table functions effectively as a hallway console, a desk in a home office, or a sofa table, offering slim architectural lines that complement modern minimalism and classic interiors alike.

Maintain the surface by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and applying a high-grade beeswax polish once or twice a year, while avoiding direct sunlight and extreme humidity changes.
