Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

This Victorian loving mug originates from nineteenth-century Staffordshire and exhibits a traditional earthenware construction with a smooth cream glaze. The exterior features a detailed black transfer-printed hunting scene depicting riders on horseback and hounds across a countryside landscape, complemented by a foliate inner border around the upper rim. Two curved loop handles project from opposing sides, and a sculpted yellow and brown spotted frog sits prominently inside the vessel against the rear wall. Subtle textural mouldings define the base and rim structure of the circular body. The piece measures 13x22x14 cm. Items of this nature suit display on a bookshelf, within a glazed display cabinet, or on a side table within an English country house interior, serving as a decorative collector's piece or a focal point in a traditional living space.

First produced in the 18th century, frog mugs feature a moulded ceramic frog inside designed to startle drinking patrons as the liquid level drops.

These pieces were crafted from earthenware, featuring hand-applied copper-plate transfer prints on the exterior and hand-modelled, glazed ceramic frogs attached inside prior to firing.

Authentic Victorian examples typically display fine craquelure, soft cream undertones in the earthenware glaze, slight alignment variations in the transfer seam, and signs of age-appropriate wear on the base rim.

Display this item on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or within a glass-fronted cabinet to add an intriguing conversation piece and historical interest to modern eclectic spaces.

Wash gently by hand using mild soapy water and warm water, avoiding submersion or harsh chemical cleaners to preserve the glaze and internal ceramic figurine.
