Peter Harris Clocks & Militaria has dated this 19th Century Kora Sword to the 19th Century.

The blade is richly decorated on both sides with Mughal-influenced panels of hunting scenes, including tigers, elephants and courtly figures, framed within scrolling foliage and floral arabesques. This decorative style is typical of court workshops in Rajasthan and the Himalayan foothill states (Garhwal / Kumaon) in the early 19th century, where traditional Hindu forms were combined with Indo-Persian metalwork.

Fitted with a classic iron tulwar hilt with pronounced quillons and disc pommel, giving excellent balance in the hand. The marriage of a kora blade to a tulwar hilt is an uncommon and desirable variant, usually associated with high-status ceremonial pieces rather than battlefield use.

Overall a very good example of a scarce North Indian kora-type sword form, with strong presence, crisp decoration and fine proportions, dating from the early 19th century.
Forward-curving blade, mounted in a tulwar-style hilt with disc pommel, consistent with examples encountered from the Bengal and Nepal border regions. The blade is engraved with opposing figures and decorative borders against a punch-dotted ground, showing age-darkened recesses and wear consistent with period execution. The spine measures approximately 5mm at the forte, indicating a sound but not overly heavy construction. An honest, mid-grade regional example with good presence and untouched surface throughout.
