This beautiful PONTYPOOL TOLEWARE HANDPAINTED TRAY, with pierced gallery and gilt border, dates from circa 1840.It is decorated with Fruit, Flowers and Foliage in colours that remain bright and clear. The open-work basket, containing Strawberries, is a delight.There are the remains of an old paper depository label on the back from the Army and Navy Stores and the owner’s name LADY ?OSKINS (presumably HOSKINS)..The TRAY is in good condition with only minor wear to the paint.
