This Regency card table dates from 1800 and is made from warm brown rosewood with brass mounts. The piece stands 75 cm high, 88 cm wide, and 44 cm deep when closed, making it well-suited for a narrow wall space in a home today. The rectangular fold-over crossbanded top rests above a frieze adorned with decorative metal mounts. Twin turned columns support the main body, rising from a quadripod base with four swept legs that terminate in castors shaped like paws. The timber displays natural variations in tone across the top and base. The brass hardware includes ornate floral mountings on the frieze corners and detailed feet at the floor.
