Regency furniture, spanning the late 18th to early 19th century, is characterised by classical proportions, clean lines, and inspiration drawn from ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt, often utilising fine timbers such as mahogany.

These tables were typically constructed from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over secondary woods, featuring hand-cut dovetail joints in the drawer construction and traditional brass hardware.

Authenticity is identified through period-appropriate joinery, hand-turned or reeded legs, natural timber oxidisation, patination, and period brass drawer pulls or locks.

An antique writing table can serve as a functional desk in a home office or living space, pairing traditional wooden warmth with contemporary seating for a balanced aesthetic.

Preserve antique mahogany by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber cracking, applying occasional quality beeswax, and dusting gently with a dry microfibre cloth.
