A fine Regency mahogany & Ebony writing table in the manner of Marsh & Tatham.

The black leather lined top with a matching concealed writing slide in the fitted stationary drawer. Dummy drawer to the rear.

The well shaped legs & standard ends with original brass toes & castors.

Marsh & Tatham ( subsequently Tatham, Bailey & Sanders) was a partnership between William Marsh ( active 1775-1810) and Thomas Tatham 1763-1810 of a very successful firm of cabinet makers & upholsters based in Mount Street, Mayfair, London.

They carried out major commissions for the Prince of Wales at the Royal Pavillion, Brighton among other imports Clients.
