Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This terracotta oil jar belongs to the late nineteenth-century rustic Mediterranean style. Formed from clay with a terracotta finish, the piece has a weathered surface patina showing dark discolouration, a thick rolled rim, twin loop handles on the shoulders, and incised horizontal bands around the upper and lower body. The dimensions are 64 cm high and 36 cm in diameter. Position this urn in an empty corner as a traditional decorative element within a rustic farmhouse interior. It suits placement directly on the floor in entrance hallways, living spaces, or conservatories where the aged terracotta surface provides a strong visual anchor.

Historically used across Mediterranean regions for storing and transporting olive oil or wine, these unglazed earthenware vessels feature robust rims and sturdy shoulder handles to endure utilitarian trade.

They were built up by hand or thrown on a wheel using local earthenware clay, fired at low temperatures, and detailed with applied loop handles and incised shoulder lines before setting.

Authentic examples display natural surface weathering, mineral deposits, lichen growth, subtle hand-potting ridge lines, and irregular tones rather than modern uniform glazes or factory seams.

Positioned as a standalone sculptural accent in an entry alcove, paired with dried branches, or integrated into a sunroom or courtyard garden alongside lush foliage.

Protect the earthenware vessel from extreme winter frost by repositioning it under shelter, ensuring proper base ventilation to avoid moisture retention and surface spalling.
