Description

This for your consideration is a fabulously glamorous Art Deco picture frame dating to the 1930s and originating from France. An absolute delight and totally original who wouldn't want this as part of their home interior. The quality is exceptional very thick peach/rose colored mirror glass and emerald green with crimped design border, bevelled edges and deceptively heavy overall. Freestanding with a board backing which is covered in suede type material. Very good overall condition, free from damage, no chips, cracks etc. Some light misting in very small odd areas of the mirror but only seen on close inspection, nothing to detract.

Offered with FREE UK mainland delivery

Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Art Deco design is characterised by geometric shapes, stylised symmetry, and the use of modern industrial materials such as coloured and bevelled plate glass.

These pieces typically feature sections of tinted mirror glass, such as peach and green panels, secured to a wooden or heavy cardboard backing with metal clips and struts.

Authentic period pieces often show genuine signs of ageing on the silver backing of the mirror, hand-bevelled edges with slight irregularities, and original wooden or thick cardboard backings.

Place the piece on a dressing table, mantelpiece, or sideboard to introduce a pop of colour and reflective geometry that complements both minimalist and eclectic spaces.

Clean the glass surface gently with a soft microfiber cloth and a mild, ammonia-free glass cleaner, taking care to avoid excess moisture near the edges where the silvering may be delicate.
