Pair of Late 19th c. Agate Monogram Wax Seals

A pair of antique desk wax seals, each with a polished banded agate handle and metal mount.

One example has a faceted reddish-brown agate handle with an ornate foliate silver-plated mount and a shield-shaped matrix engraved with a Gothic-style monogram. The other is of tapering form in translucent blue agate, with a silvered brass mount and a circular matrix engraved with a scrollwork monogram.

Dimensions:

– Brown agate seal: 8 cm high × 2 cm wide

– Blue agate seal: 7 cm high × 2 cm wide

Condition: Both seals are in good antique condition with light surface wear to the agate and age-related tarnish to the mounts. Monograms remain clear.
