Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Originating in the early 19th century, Regency sofa tables are elongated, narrow tables designed with drop-leaf ends and shallow frieze drawers. They typically feature twin pedestal or lyre-shaped end supports resting on splayed legs with brass castors.

These tables were primarily constructed using flame mahogany or rosewood veneers over solid hardwood frames. Decorative elements frequently incorporated cast brass hardware, including handles, toe caps, and wheel castors.

Authentic pieces display hand-cut dovetail joints on the frieze drawers, original brass fittings, and natural oxidation on the underside of the timber. Look for hand-turned or carved details on the end supports and traditional drop-leaf knuckle hinges.

A sofa table can be positioned directly behind a free-standing sofa to hold lamps and decorative objects, or placed along an entryway wall as a console table. The drop-leaf design allows the surface area to be adjusted based on spatial requirements.

Clean surfaces regularly with a dry, soft microfiber cloth to prevent dust accumulation. Apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, buffing gently along the wood grain, while keeping the piece away from direct sunlight and central heating sources.
