Jupiter is shown crowned, with thunderbolt and sceptre, attended by the eagle; Juno, crowned and veiled, stands beside her peacock. The vivid palette and gold heightening typify Derby’s luxury output in this period.

Condition
Both figures retain bright original colours and gilding. Jupiter: old professional restoration to neck and left arm (elbow). Juno: restoration to neck and head scarf; peacock’s tail reattached; small losses to right index finger and sceptre tip. Displays strongly.
