A large porcelain punch bowl decorated with the American Eagle motif, derived from 18th-century Canton export porcelain made for the early American market. The eagle holds an olive branch and arrows beneath a ring of thirteen golden stars, with a cobalt-blue and gilt vine border to the rim and interior.
The underside bears pattern number 7595, consistent with early 20th-century reproductions of the famous “Federal Eagle” design originally exported from Canton (Guangzhou) to the United States between about 1785 and 1820.
