A most interesting and historically significant hand-written and signed document by (Sir) Marc Isambard Brunel, 1769-1849. The note reads: "On this day (17th of february 1842) Lady Brunel's anniversary worded by her affectionate Husband M I Brunel". Mounted with a antique hand-tinted etching of The Thames Tunnel, built between 1825 and 1843 by Mark Brunel and his Son Isambard using the recently-invented tunnelling shield.

Frame and mounted. Frame measures approx. 32.5cm x 27.5 cm.

In very good antique condition.
