Additionally, and very faintly there is also the remains of another Gardner trade label to the verso of case, plus an old inscription ‘Baltimore oriole’.
Baltimore oriole (Icterus galbula) is a small icterid blackbird common in eastern North America as a migratory breeding bird. It received its name from the resemblance of the male's colours to those on the coat-of-arms of 17th-century Lord Baltimore.
This particular wall dome is one from an original set of four. All recently purchased from a private house, and not previously offered for sale.
