Gillers Antiques Ltd has dated this Blanc De Chine Guanyin Figure to the 1910s.
The “Fish-basket Guanyin” type is known from museum examples and major sales. Guanyin (Quan Yin) is the Bodhisattva of Compassion, revered as the “Goddess of Mercy.” The type is represented in major museums and at leading sales (British Museum; Bonhams/Christie’s), and this early 20th-century Dehua figure is a good core piece for a blanc-de-Chine or Buddhist art collection.

Condition: small chip to a basket leaf; subtle factory seam at neck from moulding, not a crack or restoration.
Dimensions: H 27.5 cm; W 9 cm; D 7 cm; 580 g.
