Description

An Exceptional Quality French 19th Century Mahogany Bureau Plat.

This bureau plat or writing table is veneered throughout in the finest mahogany and there are many signs of higher than normal quality. The drawer linings are mahogany, the ormolu mounts are excellent-including the gilt brass inset fluting running down the legs and the sabots are very well finished. The table has figured mahogany pull out slides to both ends. The top has a lovely original gilt tooled inset leather writing surface which has aged beautifully.
