We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Blue transferware refers to ceramic items decorated via an engraved copper plate printing process, popularized in Great Britain during the late 18th and early 19th centuries. The London Bridge pattern is a classic topographical motif depicting views of the River Thames alongside iconic city landmarks.

These ceramics were typically crafted from refined earthenware or pearlware coated with a cobalt blue underglaze print before being finished with a clear glaze. Cobalt oxide was used primarily because it withstood high kiln temperatures without burning off or discolouring.

Authentic pieces from the 18151820 era frequently display light pearlware glazes with cobalt pooling near rims, fine stipple engraving details, and slight handmade variations. Maker marks or pattern titles were occasionally impressed or printed on the reverse side.

Platters and plates of this style can be mounted on display walls in a dining room, arranged within a kitchen dresser, or positioned on a sideboard. Grouping varied sizes creates a defined visual focal point that complements both traditional and modern country interiors.

Items should be washed gently by hand using warm water and mild liquid soap while avoiding abrasive sponges. Early 19th-century pottery should never be placed in a dishwasher or microwave, as high thermal stress can induce crazing or compromise the surface glaze.
