FAQs

Venetian figural furniture often draws inspiration from 18th and 19th-century Italian decorative traditions, incorporating carved human figures and theatrical elements into functional pieces.

These tables are traditionally constructed from solid hardwoods such as linden or beech, featuring hand-carved sculptural elements, gesso priming, and hand-painted polychrome or gilt finishes.

Authenticity is determined by inspecting the hand-carved details, the ageing of the underlying wood and gesso layers, traditional joinery methods, and the quality of the hand-applied polychromy.

Position the piece as an eclectic focal point in a minimalist room or pair it with rich, textured textiles and curated objects to complement its theatrical aesthetic.

Keep the item out of direct sunlight and away from moisture fluctuations, dusting gently with a dry, soft cloth and avoiding chemical polishes that can damage aged painted finishes.
