17th Century HUGE Carved Oak Staircase Panel attributed to the Master Carver Edward Pearce. A beautifully carved panel with deep acanthus leaves bursting seed pods with a cherub holding an armorial and a carved flower. It has been in a private collection for over 60 years. This is one of four panels which are all different. Very large.

This architectural salvage is a 17th-century Baroque carved oak staircase panel in a warm brown colour, attributed to master carver Edward Pearce. The rectangular openwork panel displays deep acanthus scrollwork with seed pods, a central sunflower rosette, and a cherub holding an armorial shield at one end, all set within a plain linear border. The timber shows rich grain variation, distinct hand-tooled depth in the foliage relief, and natural patination across the carved surfaces. It measures 66 cm high, 160 cm wide, and 10 cm deep.
