A charming example of early 20th-century English porcelain artistry, this navette-shaped dessert dish was masterfully painted by William Edwin Mosley (c.1878–1954), one of Derby’s most accomplished painters.
 
The finely detailed still life features ripe plums, grapes, roses, and playful butterflies, set against a pristine white ground and bordered with a gilt gadrooned rim. Signed ''W.E.M.'' and marked to the reverse with the red crown over S H D for Sampson Hancock, Derby.
 
Dimensions: 27.5 cm × 20.5 cm.
 
Excellent condition. A refined and collectible piece from one of the most desirable Derby periods.
