Chinese egg-shell porcelain bowl - extremely fine and almost translucent porcelain. Circa 1900. Possibly earlier.
Finely decorated and enamelled with a continuous scene of ladies at leisure with children, relaxing on a rattan daybed, and daily living. Depicting family life with cartouches of simple hillside village dwellings. Superb attention to detail in the face expressions and colourful traditional clothing. The family rooster finely depicted in its splendour.
Dimensions: (of bowl; stand not included).
Diameter = 12cm
Depth = 6cm.
Condition: Good condition with no hairlines. A number of frits to top and bottom edges. Finely painted with strong colours. No restoration. (Two photos displaying the translucent characteristics under lighting).
