An unusual and early 17th Century side table. This oversized side table has the unusual feature of two drawers, one retaining the original iron handle and lock; the left-hand drawer has never had a handle, just a finger pull to the underside. Having a three-piece cleated top above, gun-barrel turned legs, and scratch molded stretchers.
A very substantial table, legs and stretchers made out of timber of nearly three-inch square sections and having panelled ends and back.
Photographed with a table from a similar period to show the scale.
Superb patination, color, and condition, having just a later drawer back and half a drawer bottom.
Circa 1650.
