FAQs

Antique treen refers to small, functional or decorative wooden household objects made by turning on a lathe or through hand-carving, popular from the 17th to the early 20th century.

Treen items were typically crafted from dense, close-grained hardwoods such as boxwood, lignum vitae, fruitwood, and mahogany to allow for intricate turning and durability.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-turned tool marks, natural patination from handling, shrinkage cracks, and wear consistent with age rather than modern machine production.

They can be displayed on a bookshelf, mantelpiece, or coffee table as tactile accent pieces, often grouped with other natural materials to add warmth and history.

Preserve treen by keeping it away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity fluctuations, applying occasional microcrystalline wax to nourish the dry wood surface.
