This Victorian decorative tile originates from the Aesthetic Movement period around 1880, produced by Minton and Hollins. The square glazed earthenware object displays blue and white decoration featuring a heron standing amongst water lilies and reeds, enclosed within a repeating chevron patterned border. A smooth glossy glaze covers the surface, while minor chips appear along the outer edges of the ceramic body. The reverse carries embossed lettering identifying the manufacturer at the Stoke on Trent works.
