Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Regency period centre tables, produced during the early 19th century, were designed to sit in the middle of a room or foyer as prominent focal points. They frequently featured circular tops, architectural pedestal bases, classical motifs, and decorative surfaces such as specimen marble or detailed marquetry.

These tables typically pair native or imported cabinet woods, such as mahogany, rosewood, or walnut, with top surfaces constructed from various polished marble, porphyry, and hardstone veneers. The tops showcased pietre dure or micro-mosaic techniques set into geometric and floral arrangements.

Authentic Regency examples exhibit hand-carved joinery, hand-drawn brass stringing, and natural age-related wear on the underside of the timber base. The specimen marble tops usually feature subtle irregularities in tile cutting, historical underside reinforcement, and hand-polished mineral textures.

Positioning the table in a spacious entrance hall or large drawing room creates an immediate anchor for the space. Surrounding it with minimalist modern seating or placing a singular sculptural vessel on top highlights the intricate stonework without cluttering the display.

Clean the marble top using a soft, dry cloth or a pH-neutral cleaner specifically formulated for natural stone, ensuring spills are wiped immediately to prevent staining. Protect the timber base by applying high-grade beeswax periodically and keeping the piece away from direct sunlight.
