FAQs

A gueridon is a type of small French table, typically supported by a central column or figures, originating in the 17th century and frequently used as a centre or occasional table.

These tables are traditionally constructed from fine hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, or oak, often featuring inset marble slabs, brass accents, and veneer work.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate joinery, hand-turned pedestals, natural timber ageing, and hand-polished marble tops without modern synthetic bonding.

Position the piece as a focal point in a hallway or living room, styling it minimally with a single ceramic vase or brass decorative object to highlight the natural stone and timber grain.

Clean the marble top with a damp cloth and mild, pH-neutral soap, avoiding acidic substances, and nourish the walnut timber periodically with traditional beeswax.
