An incredibly attractive 19th century mahogany music stand dating from the era that is William IV to early Victorian. It has a fully adjustable height mechanism secured by an original thumbscrew on the column. The tapering turned and carved column is supported on a tripartite base on curved lion’s paw feet. The lyre-shaped music rest has brass retainer toggles to keep sheet music in place. The lowest overall height this stand can be adjusted to is 123cms, and the highest is 180cms. This wonderful music stand, of graceful, elegant design, would adorn any home. English, c.1825 to c.1850.
