FAQs

Treen refers to small, functional or decorative wooden domestic objects made before the widespread use of plastics and mass manufacturing, often hand-turned on a lathe.

Dense, durable hardwoods such as lignum vitae, boxwood, and fruitwoods were frequently employed for their strength and fine grain.

Authenticity is identified through tool marks left by manual lathe turning, natural patina, weight, shrinkage cracks, and wear patterns consistent with age and use.

These organic wooden items add warmth and texture when displayed in groups on open shelving, mantelpieces, or inside glass-fronted cabinets.

Keep wooden objects away from direct heat sources and dramatic humidity fluctuations, occasionally treating them with microcrystalline wax to nourish the wood.
