Superior quality pair of late C19th/ early C20th French ormolu-mounted marble vases or cassolettes in the Louis XVI taste .

The tapering ovoid marble bodies with cast ormolu bronze mounts to the sides in the form of horned satyr-head masks . The fixed ‘lid’ tops each with a cast berry style ormolu finial . The tapering bodies having cast cup mounts to the turned socle bases onto a square block plinth base with applied ormolu decoration.

Bright ormolu mounts and highly figured ‘caramel’ coloured marble bodies, being of good scale and elegant design.

In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs.
