A George 111, Tripod Mahogany Tilt Top Table, Excellent Sun Bleached Colour

18th century
Description

A George 111, Tripod Mahogany Tilt Top Table, Excellent Natural Bleached Colour.

A superbly stylish late 18th century, George 111 round tilt top table with an exquisite naturally sun bleached colour and established patination.

A generous size late 18th century, tripod tilt top table, circa 1780 with a top diameter measuring 85cm and standing well at 70cm tall.

The tilt mechanism operates correctly, locking the top tightly and creating a perfectly flat surface, with an elegant twist stem above 3 gracefully curved supports terminating at pad feet.

A handsome table with a superb naturally bleached colour, fully appreciated when matched to the top’s underside, a super thing.

Dimensions

Height 70cm

Diameter 85cm

Height when tilted 117cm

A wonderful George 111 tilt top table in excellent structural condition, the colour is wonderful whilst some may consider it against the popular appearance of a dark stain or flame finish, we consider this to be an outstanding colour that works well within an interior design aesthetic, a classic or contemporary space.

Presented in very good condition, please see a historic repair to the top with diamond cut veneers inset to the centre.

Please request more photos and any questions invited.

Free collection from Lewes, East Sussex.

UK delivery available.

We operate a weekly delivery service into London and surrounding areas of the M25 for only £40 plus any relevant congestion charges, please enquire.

We can recommend a whole of U.K. weekly delivery service at competitive prices, please enquire.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
