Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

William IV furniture, dating from 1830 to 1837, bridges the Regency and early Victorian eras. It is defined by substantial proportions, turned pedestals, bold carved foliage, scroll feet, and the extensive use of figured mahogany and rosewood veneers.

Tables from this period were predominantly constructed from solid mahogany and decorated with high-grade flame or figured mahogany veneers. Cabinetmakers used traditional hand-cut dovetail joints, wood pegging, and cast iron or brass castors beneath quadform bases.

Authentic period examples display hand-planed underside surfaces, original brass swivel mechanisms or rear support hinges, natural shrinkage marks in the timber, and hand-cut screws rather than modern uniform machine screws.

Positioned against a wall with the top folded, these tables function as elegant hallway consoles or side tables. In modern settings, they pair well with contemporary artwork above the table and structured ceramics or lighting placed on the surface.

Dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and apply a quality beeswax polish twice a year along the grain. Keep the piece away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent timber cracking or finish discolouration.
