Walton House Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The drawers are a later addition but have been made after the manufacture of the table by only a few years. The drawer construction and locks are of the period and have the same dry surfaces as the rest of the table's underside. The table is marked Gillows and is a tilt top with two detachable bolts allowing for the top to come away from the saddle and pedestal base. The dining table is raised on nulled/gadrooned bun feet, and a super quatraform plinth base above a moulded collar that sits below a crisply carved reeded pedestal.
