(Reserved MC) For sale, a fine pair of Japanese turquoise glazed Shi Shi dating to the Meiji period. Both are finely modelled with excellent facial expressions, one with mouth open, the other baring its teeth, both warning off evil spirits. These are unusual, with one standing and the other sitting on its haunches, one facing left and the other to the right. Both examples are covered in this rich turquoise glaze pooling to the base of each. Size approx. 20cm tall by 22cm long and 10cm wide. One perfect and undamaged the other undamaged but with one ear professionally restored and unnoticeable. A great pair. Price inclusive of shipping to within the UK (Reserved MC)
