Rare Pair of English 19th Century Antique Grotto Garden Seats

A wonderful rare pair of antique earthenware grotto style garden seats, stamped by the maker, Gibbs & Canning of Tamworth. Superb condition and colour, modelled in intertwined branches and twigs with an oak leaf pattern seat which has the original hand hold for moving. English grotto furniture of this style was all the rage in English country house gardens from around 1870. This pair are in amazing condition. They would also make a super pair of side tables or bedside tables. Gibbs & Canning famously made statues of lions and pelicans for London’s Natural History Museum.
