18th Century English Enamel Etui with Scent Bottles

Description

Unusual olive-green ground reserve Etui, circa 1780, of painted enamel on copper, with gilt copper mount, containing two cut glass scent-bottles and stoppers, an ivory memorandum tablet, and 5 metal implements. Upright, octagonal, tapering slightly downwards. Painted in colours with 3 portraits of ladies and landscapes. Height 2 7/8" inches.

The Victoria & Albert Museum in the UK have a blue version of this Etui with similar portraits, see their item number O307450
