This is a large decorative antique English George mahogany haberdashery shop display table, on later metal legs, circa 1920, in good condition. This a long sideboard measuring 7ft 6¾” wide and is constructed with a mahogany moulded frame, incorporating three working drawers, decorated with cushion moulded fronts, which retain the original ribbed brass cup handles. The working drawers are constructed with pine drawer linings and the central drawer is compartmentalised. There is a working key for the central and right-hand drawer. The shop display table stands on four later splayed metal legs, which are extremely sturdy. The metal legs can be easily removed for easy access into a building or for long-distance travel. Ideal as a shop display / console table, maybe in a clothes shop or useful in a restaurant or café.
Condition Report:
This is a large decorative antique English George mahogany haberdashery shop display table, with three drawers, on later metal legs, circa 1920, in good condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges, frame, top, front, including inside the drawers, but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The drawers retain the original brass cup handles. There is a working key for the central and right-hand drawer (the left-hand drawer does not have a lock). The shop display table stands on four later splayed metal legs, which are extremely sturdy. The shop counter is well-constructed, solid in joint with no loose movements and is ready to be used.
