Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Early Victorian furniture spans the period from roughly 1837 to the mid-19th century, bridging late Regency and high Victorian aesthetics, often featuring robust proportions, classical Revival influences, and rich dark timbers like mahogany.

Cabinet makers predominantly utilised solid mahogany and mahogany veneers, frequently incorporating secondary softwoods for internal framing, alongside cast brass for mechanisms and castors.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage cracks consistent with age, numbering on extension leaves, hand-turned legs with original brass castors, and patination developed over decades of use.

Pairing a heavy wooden table with minimalist, modern seating creates a balanced contrast, allowing the historical craftsmanship to serve as a focal point within an open-plan dining space.

Maintain stable room humidity to prevent wood splitting, avoid direct sunlight to protect the polish, dust regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, and apply traditional beeswax periodically to nourish the grain.
