Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian portico pedestal table is a tall, narrow stand inspired by classical architectural columns. Originally designed to display marble busts, bronze statues, or indoor foliage, these pieces feature heavy bases to ensure stability.

During the nineteenth century, foundries produced pedestals using heavy cast iron bases paired with stone, marble, or timber surfaces. The cast iron permitted detailed classical moulding while providing structural weight.

Authentic nineteenth-century cast iron typically displays crisp moulding details, visible foundry seams, and substantial weight. Original pieces often feature seam marks from multi-part sand moulds and age-appropriate surface patination.

Architectural pedestals create vertical interest in empty corners, alcoves, or flanking a doorway. Modern schemes often utilise them to elevate contemporary ceramic art, botanical specimens, or ambient lighting.

Maintain timber tops by dusting with a soft cloth and applying clear furniture wax periodically. Inspect cast iron bases for moisture exposure and keep them clean using a dry brush or lightly waxed rag to prevent rust formation.
